My Name is Robert Makau, I was born and raised in Machakos. I did my KCSE in the year 2017 and started working as a security guard in the year 2018 immediately after form four. I got to know about the #GoodKenyan program through an organization called Seeds for hope Kenya and I was so eager to join the program. The experience of working as a security guard at night and schooling during daytime was very challenging since I had to balance the two and make sure no task was left undone.
After my four months course, I started working with the Good Kenyan foundation as a program assistant and also joined college whereby I am pursuing my career in supply chain management. Going to college is one of the greatest steps I have made in life. Working with Good Kenyan Foundation enabled me to learn how to create achievable goals, develop a savings plan, and also developed into a financial discipline person.
I am happy for having gotten the opportunity to work at Good Kenyan and I see growth every single day. Being a business-oriented young person, my dream is to own a chain store and employ young individuals, and I am currently working hard to make sure that I live to make a difference in society.
