Our Priorities - Good Kenyan Foundation

We aim to enhance the abilities of youth by preparing and guiding them through targeted training and skill development programs. 

1. Mwanzo program Designed for school leavers aged 18-24 to equip them for impactful roles in entrepreneurship, employment, or higher education. Our approach combines classroom sessions, case studies, apprenticeships, and practical training in ICT, entrepreneurship, life skills, and leadership development, with each cohort participating in a three-month program.
2. Daraja Program: Designed to support teens aged 13 to 17 as they transition from primary to high school. This program provides a two-week experiential training that focuses on self-leadership, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), self-awareness, acceptance, managing bullying and peer pressure, and goal setting. Through this training, participants gain essential skills and confidence to navigate their educational journey and personal development effectively.

1. Mwanzo Program: Each youth is paired with an experienced mentor who provides personalized guidance to help them navigate their educational and professional paths, ensuring a successful transition. The mentorship structure includes monthly meetings for the first three months, followed by quarterly meetings for the remainder of the year. These meetings are conducted in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face and virtual interactions. We recruit professionals from across Kenya on a voluntary basis, equipping and preparing them to effectively undertake their mentoring roles. 
2. Daraja Program: Structured quarterly group mentorship sessions are held during school holidays for youth enrolled in the Daraja Program and attending high school. These sessions offer ongoing support, guidance, and development opportunities to help participants navigate their academic and personal growth effectively.

1. Fanaka social enterprise project: focus on creating economic opportunities by offering skills training in crafting and design within our creative hub. We provide participants with the necessary equipment and materials to produce products for sale using recycled paper, waste fabrics, and tins. This support enables participants to generate income during the three-month program and equips them to either start their own businesses or gain employment in the creative industry, thereby promoting financial independence.

We advocate for underserved youth by pushing for fair practices and inclusive policies. Our efforts ensure equitable access to opportunities and representation in education, driving systemic change to help all youth reach their full potential.
